🐷🐽🐖🐷🐽🐖🐷🐽🐖🐷🐽🐖The students will listen to a farm story and discuss pig facts during the "research" part of the class. The students will create a true/false game piece and then play a true/false pig game. We will discuss the parts of a pig. During the teacher directed drawing portion of the class, the students will draw and color a pig using their listening skills. They will share the pig drawings with their classmates, if they feel comfortable doing so. The students will then use the words we have charted to label the pig drawing. We will play a game of ~ig words to finish up the class.
Learning Goals
-Students will use listening skills by focusing on pig facts during the read aloud.
-Students will use research skills to gather and explain information about pigs.
-Students will use creative skills by drawing and coloring a teacher directed pig drawing.
-Students will use writing skills to write pig labels and sentences as well as ~ig words.

Hi! Welcome to my Outschool classroom.
My name is Betty Nilssen. 💕
I have a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from UW-Milwaukee. I am a first grade teacher, but I have also taught second, third and fourth grade, full inclusive classrooms. My passion for teaching reading while incorporating phonics, phonemic awareness, rhyming, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, science, social studies, math, drawing and writing helps children strengthen their academic skills while they gain academic confidence and a love of learning. Teaching reading is my super power.
However, I always incorporate math, writing, drawing, social studies and science into all of my lessons, as well.
I have three adult daughters and two of them are teachers. My mom was also an educator.
There are so many books to read, words and sentences to write, math equations to solve and fiction and non fiction pictures to draw. Let's get started!
