Students will be taught introductory HTML and CSS -- a little goes a long way. No previous knowledge is required for this course. More specifically, we will cover the different roles HTML and CSS play in building a website, and how they build off of each other. We will start with HTML, which defines the content of the page. We will learn basic tags first like <h1> and <p>, then go into CSS, and we cover rule-sets and selectors, and the most popular CSS attributes. Along the way, the students...
I hope for students to be able to make simple websites with HTML and CSS by the end of this course.
Nothing has to be downloaded for this course, but we will be writing code on a website known as PlayCodeIO, found at https://playcode.io/. Students will also need to log into a Google, GitHub or Microsoft account in order to save their progress. I will expect that they are already logged in by the time class begins.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
