Class Experience

Have you ever wondered how a camel survives in the desert? Then this class is for you! During this flex class we will explore animal habitats and adaptations. Students will learn about seven different animal habitats. Each week we will look at one habitat: tundra, forest, rainforest, polar, grasslands, desert, and oceans. Students will learn about specific animals that live in each habitat and their adaptations for survival. Each week will begin with a teacher led video. Each week, students will research and present on an animal from that weeks habitat (video report or written report). Peers will then be prompted to ask and engage in discussion about each of the animals presented in class. Students will engage with a nearpod lesson, in this lesson students will complete polls, KWL charts with peers and engage and post in a group collaboration to discuss each habitat. During the last week, students will work together to create an online bulletin board with facts about each habitat and examples of animals and their adaptations.
