Homework
Frequency: 1-2 per week
Feedback: included
Details: Homework and practice problems will be given each week.
Assessment
Frequency: included
Details: Because of the small class size, it is possible to assess students during class to determine competency. If a student needs extra help they may be given some extra math resources to be completed before the next class.
Certified Math Teacher with over 20 years experience working with students of all backgrounds and abilities.
Students should have taken Pre-Algebra and have an understanding of numbers, ratios, proportions, the order of operations, equality and algebraic symbolism. Students should be proficient with integers and fractions.
Paper, pencil, crayons or colored pencils. I will also send worksheets and other materials out to students as needed. A headset or headphones with microphone (earbuds also work) helps to cut down on background noise and makes it easier for students to participate in class discussions.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
IXL will also be utilized. The teacher will purchase a class license for the IXL online resource tat students actively in enrolled in the class will have access to use.
If you would like to purchase an additional Algebra textbook to use as reference, please send me a message and I can give some suggestions.
