How long is this course? This is an ongoing class. We meet twice per week. Each session is 30 minutes long. What will students learn in this course? This session supports students in mastering Algebra I without committing to a full semester. Students can select which classes to attend based on the topics provided. This class is taught in English.
Algebra 1 introduces students to variables, algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, functions, and all their multiple representations. In this class, students will develop the ability to explore and solve real-world application problems, demonstrate the appropriate use of graphing calculators, and communicate mathematical ideas clearly. This course lays the foundation for mathematical literacy that will help students be successful in every subsequent course in mathematics.
I come to you with over 15 years of experience in STEM education. I am a certified educator in 6 different States. I hold a Bachelor's Degree of Science with distinguished honors. In addition, I hold a Masters Degree Science Education and Doctorate of Philosophy in Teaching Learning and Culture with a specialization in Science and Mathematics Education. You never stop learning! I became a teacher by choice. Teaching young minds has been one of the best things that has happened to me. I love to learn as much as I love to teach!
Homework Offered
Each lesson is followed by an assignment that will help students to reinforce the concepts learned during class. Assignments due for the week are posted on the class announcement at the beginning of each week. All assignments are submitted electronically. Students receive feedback within 24 hrs of each submission.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
