Homework
1 hour per week. Learners will be encouraged to review short examples and/or videos in preparation for the week's topic. Additional practice problems will be suggested so learners can practice what was covered in class. This will all be optional and is meant as extra practice; none of the assignments outside of class will be required.Class Experience

Pre-Calculus demystified! This class is specifically designed to prepare learners for an AP Calculus course. This pre-Calculus class will cover key concepts and then apply these concepts to problems and exercises. Let's learn through examples instead of long lectures. Learners are encouraged to ask questions and requests exercises to cover in class! Class Structure: 5-20 minutes: Review of key concepts for the week's topic. 35-50 minutes: Class will be presented with relevant problems (note that students can request a problem they'd like the class to cover; as long as it fits with the week's topic we will review the problem). The class will be given 5 to 10 minutes to try a problem on their own, after which the instructor will give an in-depth solution to the problem and answer questions. After this, the class will move on to the next problem and repeat the process. Typically the class will have time to cover 6-10 problems. After class, the instructor will provide a PDF with all the problems and exercises covered in class. There will be numerous review session during which learners can request for the class to revisit past problems or concepts. Class Schedule: Week 1. Polynomial and Rational Functions Part 1 Week 2. Supply List
The class will occasionally use an online graphing calculator (https://www.numworks.com/simulator/). Learners are encouraged to acquire their own calculator, but it will not be required for the class. The class will also use free online resources, such as online textbooks and videos. These are not required, but will be provided as additional learning tools for the learners.

Hello! My name is Pablo. I have been a private tutor since 2012 and have been employed as an engineer since 2014. I'm excited to bring my teaching experience and technical know-how into my Outschool classes. I believe in empowering learners by teaching them according to their preferences. I will explain class concepts step-by-step, and I strive to create a light-hearted, engaging environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and have fun as they learn.
I have a Bachelor's of Science in Engineering Science and a Master's of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Additionally, I have minors in English Creative Writing, Mathematics, and Physics. I have been a private tutor since 2012 focused on math and physics, though I have branched out to various other subjects as well. Additionally, during graduate school I was a teaching assistant. This meant I planned, taught, and graded the lab section of an advanced electronics course. I actually won an award for this role one year!
I have been working as a professional engineer since 2014; as such I try to incorporate real life examples of the concepts I am teaching. I believe it's not just about knowing HOW to do a problem, it's important to know WHY these concepts are relevant and the way they are APPLIED in the real world.
As a teacher, I want to empower learners. Not everybody learns the same, so I try to cater to an individual's learning style. During class I strive to create an engaging and fun environment where students can feel comfortable speaking up when they don't quite understand a concept. Outside of class, I will suggest additional and optional resources that can enhance a learner's understanding.
A little about myself...
I am also a big-time enthusiast of flying cars that play soccer, AKA the video game Rocket League. I also love anime and manga. A few of my favorites are Naruto, FMA: Brotherhood, One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia... The list could go on and on and on!
