Class Experience
This camp meets twice a week and reviews a topic each week from Algebra 1. The topics are listed below by week. The material will cycle every five weeks. Each session begins with a warm up activity or discussion to prepare the learners for the review. Next, an example problem is solved together with step by step explanations. Learners can present different approaches and strategies to solve the problem. Then learners work together or individually on a set of problems. Learners are...
Learners will review and improve their understanding of the following topics from Algebra 1; linear equations, quadratic equations, systems of equations and inequalities, exponents, radicals, and polynomials.
Practice problems can be provided on the weekly topics. These are optional.
Pencil and paper. Access to desmos.com or another graphing program may be helpful. Desmos is a math website that allows learners to graph. No account is necessary.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Quizzizz may be used as an opening activity, assessment activity, or practice problems outside of class during the course. Learners will be sent a link to participate. No account is necessary.
