Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 12
Middle School/High School Math Tutoring (4th-11th grade). Sessions will be tailored to individual students' needs. We will use a mix of conversational and lecture-style teaching (whichever works best for the student). Tutoring is a collaborative effort and students are encouraged to freely ask/voice any questions or concerns throughout each session. Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Cla ss Availability: Tuesday-Thursday from 1 pm - 6pm Est. /10am-3:30 pm Pst. NOTE TO PARENTS* Parents must make sure to get in contact with me before the first session. I will be reaching out through the Outschool messaging platform, for additional information, in regard to the student's needs and goals for our sessions. Parents will be asked to provide additional information about struggle areas/topics that the student may have, as well as information about testing/homework that the parents/teacher/student may want to be reviewed. Parents are encouraged to make sure that students are prepared for each session. Note, that if parents are not able to get back to me in a timely manner, a pre-planned lesson will be used in place of personally tailored sessions, until the aforementioned information is provided to me. Together, we will gain an overview of our "problem areas", along with a better understanding of how we can structure our sessions, to best fit each student. Sessions will be adjusted to the students' needs, meaning, that this is a collaborative structure, where students' learning styles and abilities will be taken into care and great consideration. Session Outline: 25 minutes lesson, where I teach a new or presented topic, to the student. This lesson will be based on information that is given before our sessions, to me (whether that be homework, project outline, test topics, etc), so that I can specialize your sessions, to fit your child's personal needs. 25 minutes of practice/activity work. During this time, students will attempt practice problems, from the topics that we covered earlier in the session. Students will be encouraged to do the questions on their own, after initial examples are given. At an time, students can ask for help.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from The New School
Hello! My name is Danae! I am currently continuing my work as a Math and Reading tutor. I have worked with students of all ages. My tutoring career begins with NYC Standardized testing, where I focused in on state exams, regents,SHSAT, SAT and PSAT's. after spending 7+ years tutoring 3rd to 12th graders, in relation to the student concerns, curriculum and testing standard. Additionally, I have spent 3+years of experience tutoring within the California curriculum with the added experience of the Montessori teaching/learning methods. As well as 4 years of experience, tutoring within a multitude on states, online.
My teaching style is very relaxed and conversational. With experience, I've noticed that providing an environment where the stakes are low and mistakes are encouraged for learning, has been the best environment for students. I love to see the recognition and confidence, build in the student's faces, as they begin to better understand the material.
Being that I have a Bachelor's Degree is psychology, I have found that this has lent a great hand in working with students of varying confidence levels and learning abilities.
