In this one-time class, students will learn about the Amistad slave revolt in 1839. Through a slideshow presentation, we will learn about the rebellion of the captured Africans at sea, their incarceration in the USA, the court case, and how they finally got freedom and returned to their home country. There will be lots of discussion as we go through the lesson, and students will also work together solve a mystery challenge. No prior experience is required, however, some knowledge of American history may be helpful. See you in class!

Parental Guidance
This class will discuss slavery, murder and imprisonment.
