Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Have you ever wanted to travel to Mars? It might not be a reality yet for people to travel to and live on Mars, but in this class, we will go on an adventure to learn everything we need to about getting to and living on Mars!

Day 1: First we will break the ice and you will get to know your fellow crew mates. After, we will introduce Mars and discuss its similarities and differences to the Earth. Lastly, you will design your space suits and flag for our trip.

Day 2: We will start our journey to Mars as you learn everything you need to know about traveling to Mars. This includes takeoff, escaping Earth's gravity, and how long of a trip it is! You will then design your Rocketship for the journey out of cardboard.

Day 3: Now that we made it to Mars, we have to land! You will learn about landers and how we can get from space to a planet. You will then build your own lander and test it out to make sure you can get onto the surface of Mars safely.

Day 4: You will learn about rovers and satellites that are used to explore Mars to make sure it safe before we get there. You will learn about robotic explorers and their parts and then you will design and build your own rover to explore Mars!

Day 5: Now that we are on Mars, we will have a discussion on if humans can live on Mars! You will learn everything that would be needed to sustain life on Mars. After, you will design your very own base to live in on Mars!
