Calling all youth who want to babysit. This is a class for boys and girls ages 10-14 who are interested in learning to babysit. They will learn through discussion and presentations what they need to do to be a responsible babysitter. Students will learn safety protocols for babysitting. Students will learn about what questions to ask parents to help keep their children as safe as possible. They will also learn about screen-free activities to do with younger children, and how different activities are appropriate for different age groups. They will also learn how to ask questions about children’s interests and preferred activities. They will also learn how to ask parents about potential hazards in the house (like pools) and how to stay safe with those hazards. The class will be set up as a fun conversation and a review game at the end of class if there is time. No previous knowledge is necessary just a love for younger kids and a desire to babysit in the future.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the do’s and don’t of babysitting.
Students will learn basic safety for babysitting.
Students will learn about different activities to do while babysitting.

Parental Guidance
Babysitting is for mature and responsible preteens and teens. This is a class designed for students who can take care of themselves and have the capability to take care of a younger child. Please note that no first aid, CPR, or other skills needed to be taught by a certified instructor are taught.
