Class Experience

Do you enjoy solving problems and have a love for Disney? Can you beat the clock to escape from Hollywood Studios with a small team? If so, this class is for you! You will work with a team to answer trivia questions, riddles, and problems to escape before it’s too late. This class helps with cooperative learning and critical thinking while having fun to beat the clock. The class will begin with the story of your mission, rules, and expectations for the activity. And have no fear, I will be there along the way to help you solve the problems.

While knowledge of Hollywood Studios is helpful it’s not necessary for this experience. Each student will receive the clues to solve each step with their team though scratch paper and a pencil may be helpful.

Do you have what it takes to get out in time?

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Stephanie and I have been a teacher for the past 15 years! I have an undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in Sociology and have been a social studies teacher for most of my career. I enjoy exploring interesting topics in history and helping students understand why learning history is not only necessary but so much fun! I hold an Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) and am highly qualified to teach secondary social studies (grades 7-12) in my state. I am also licensed to teach general education for grades 1-6. I am currently a teacher for middle school-aged children in the United States and am also a teacher leader. I was also an avid Model United Nations participant in high school and college and established my school's first-ever Model United Nations Club (Model UN for short) and would love to share my years of experience and knowledge with even more students. I believe that everyone can have an impact and enact change, especially young people and that it's important to tell the story of those that are often overlooked or forgotten throughout history. One of my favorite quotes and philosophies to live by is from an African proverb: "Until the Story of the hunt is told by the Lion, the tale of the hunt will always glorify the hunter." My classes will help empower students to engage in the storytelling of history to help tell all of the important stories.

When I'm not guiding my students to become historians and social scientists, I enjoy spending time with my family (husband and daughter, 8) especially at one of our favorite places in the world: Walt Disney World!

See you real soon!
