Konnichiwa. Welcome to Advancing Japanese Basics 2. This class is designed to be hands on, fun, and highly interactive to reinforce vocabulary naturally while building what we know into longer sentences. We will draw, write, play games, and have individual speaking practice targeting new vocabulary and grammar, as well as social sharing time at the end of class. Hello Everyone,

I am Amy Nishikata. I can't wait to meet you and be a part of your child's learning team.

I specialize in two areas on Outschool.

~Teaching small group and private online Japanese language lessons.

~Teaching young learners how to read in English aligned with Montessori individualized learning and the Science of Reading.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Japanese from UCLA and I lived and taught in Japan for more than ten years.

I am an AMS certified Montessori Teacher. I hold additional certifications in Early Childhood Science of Reading and Montessori Applied to Children at Risk.

All combined I have more than 30 years of lead classroom teaching experience in the US and Japan and four years of online teaching experience.

My Japanese lessons incorporate games, songs, puppets, drawing, speaking, writing, reading, VR trips to Japan, videos, and storytelling.

Online learning can be dynamic! My online classroom is brightly lit and I use a high quality HD camera and top of the line microphone and side cameras to create a clear and more immersive experience for learners.

All of my classes are designed to touch the heart and mind of the child. My teaching style is joyful, kind, flexible, and observant. I support intrinsic learning and your learners ideas.

"The child is truly a miraculous being" ~Maria Montessori

CLASS PREPARATION POLICY:

My classes will have printouts provided on a weekly basis. Please print out so your learner can fully participate. I will notify you beforehand so you will have time to print. I cannot offer refunds on classes due to unpreparedness.

However, I understand things sometimes do happen. In the case of an emergency or event out of your control a refund may be issued on a case by case basis. Please message me if you feel like your case fits this policy. For my classes with young learners who need assistance, as per Outschool policy, thank you for sitting to the side, off camera to support your child with the computer and any materials when needed. In my classes, your child will need a writing surface and space to move. I will send a short materials list so you will have what you need for each class. Ideally, even the youngest learners can learn to mute and unmute their own devices. Thank you.

**************************
SIBLING POLICY:

If you have more than one child that is interested in taking my classes you will need to make sure you pay for each child to be enrolled separately. However, once you have enrolled each child separately your children are more than welcome to share a device screen to complete the class. If you are wanting a private class for siblings, please contact me so I can send you a private link that I will adjust to allow for more than one child/ren within the same family to enroll.

よろしくお願いします。
