Description

Class Experience

The students will learn the benefits of incorporating a consistent stretching routine into their training.  They will learn the proper posture and form to hold while performing the stretches.  Athletes will also learn how focusing on flexibility can assist with injury prevention and mental focus.  
I have been coaching advanced power and figure skating for the last three years.  Previous to that, I performed worldwide as a professional figure skater.  I am a certified coach with the Untied States Figure Skating Association.  I am also SafeSport certified.  In 2017, I passed the National Academy of Sports Medicine’s personal trainer exam.
The athletes will be asked to incorporate the stretches learned into their daily training regimen.  This should only take a few minutes each day, but the benefits will be immense!
Just an exercise mat and comfortable clothing. An open space is necessary for safe stretching. Water is always recommended.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will be available to answer any additional questions athletes and parents have.  I can also provide a written summary of the stretches performed and the ones to continue working on.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
As with any form of physical exercise, parental supervision is recommended.  The students will need an open area to allow for safe and effective stretching.  It is always suggested to have a bottle of water available during exercise.  Since students will be learning and performing stretches during class, to do not need to stretch prior to class.
