Advanced Level
The Advanced Scratch Coding course takes students deep into the world of game development with AI, multiplayer features, and advanced game mechanics. Students will create games with intelligent characters, complex behaviors, and multiplayer functionality while refining their debugging and problem-solving skills. This course is ideal for learners who already have a good understanding of Scratch and are looking to expand their skills and create truly epic projects. What Will Be Taught? AI Programming: Students will learn how to program intelligent enemies, power-ups, and behaviors to make their games more dynamic and interactive. Advanced Game Mechanics: Students will create games with challenging mechanics such as boss fights, power-ups, and scoring systems. Multiplayer Setup: Students will master the process of integrating multiplayer features, allowing two or more players to compete or cooperate within a game. Advanced Debugging & Game Design: Students will learn how to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize their projects for smooth, professional-quality games. Topics Covered: Artificial Intelligence (AI) for smart, reactive game characters Power-ups, bosses, and advanced game mechanics Multiplayer game design, including player synchronization Debugging techniques and optimizing performance Creating advanced scoring systems with multiple variables Class Structure: Each session combines live coding demonstrations with practical application. Here's how the class is structured: Theory and Demo: The instructor will introduce key concepts and demonstrate the coding techniques required for the day’s project. Interactive Coding: Students will follow along with the instructor, coding in real-time and implementing new skills into their game projects. Collaboration and Discussion: Students will discuss their ideas, work together on solving coding challenges, and troubleshoot problems they encounter. Project Time & Feedback: At the end of each session, students will have time to refine their projects, with personalized feedback from the instructor to help them improve. Teaching Style: We use an interactive, project-based teaching style, where students learn by creating and building real-world applications. We focus on: Live demonstrations to walk through key coding concepts. Real-time assistance while students work on their projects, ensuring everyone can solve problems and move forward. Encouraging creativity in game design while emphasizing coding best practices and troubleshooting skills. Student Interaction: Live Demonstrations: The instructor will guide students through coding challenges and complex game mechanics. Hands-on Project Work: Students will apply what they’ve learned to build their own projects, with instructor support along the way. Interactive Feedback: Students will engage in collaborative feedback, helping each other troubleshoot and solve coding issues. They'll also receive personalized guidance from the instructor to make their games even better.
