  -CLASS SUMMARY-

▪️This course will begin with a meet/greet of all students. All students are important to me and I strive daily to create a warm, caring and safe learning environment for them to flourish. The morning message will then be read/followed to further immerse students into the world of literacy and serve as the roadmap for the day.

▪️ Interactive, fun and engaging times will then consist of learning the following:

alphabet knowledge, phonics, phonological awareness, sight words, cvc words, word families, sentence structure, reading, spelling, math skills (skip counting, adding/subtraction, graphing, positions, 2d/3d shapes, etc.), writing/drawing (fine motor skill strengthening), colors, and a plethora of more.

▪️ALL standards and beyond are intentionally woven into the curriculum to help prepare students to be academically successful. The infusion of singing/movement, finger play, social interaction, and games will be the surprise. A weekly theme will be featured to accent every week.

Greetings!

My name is Teacher Aneesa and I am beyond excited to be present in the Outschool community to help spread the love for learning. I come to you with a Masters of Arts in Teaching specializing in Early Childhood Education from Walden University and an ESL certification (TESOL). I am a licensed teacher who has been in the teaching arena for 14 years and I can honestly say that I still truly love what I do with every fiber within me. My teaching experience includes pre-k (80-85% ESL students every class), kindergarten and 1st grade. Also, my high schoolers and elementary child have expanded my teaching abilities as well. Children are our precious gifts and I am passionate about participating in the process of helping to mold them into their best selves. Exposure to all aspects of education is a must especially when it comes to building that educational foundation.

The production of readers is where I am most passionate about therefore, I will provide classes that focus on building literacy (letter names, phonics, writing, vocabulary and grammar). I love math and science as well so there will also be sprinkles of these classes throughout. I have always been a math nerd on the inside so I have to let that inner nerd shine at times by helping students build skills with number sense, addition facts, multiplication facts, etc. Being fluent in math basics is a very important test strategy to master in order to improve one’s success rate in mathematics.

It is very important for students to fall in love with education early on. Therefore, I believe in a very interactive/hands-on teaching style that is fun and engaging. Just seeing kids have enjoyment within the learning process brings my heart joy.

Something fun about me is that I am totally family absorbed and love to sing. I am married with 3 athletic girls who pull me in all crazy directions. I love the crazy fun times and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. If you catch me singing in class, please join in. We can sing and retain together.

Looking forward to meeting you!!!

Kind Regards,

Teacher Aneesa
