Advanced Digital Drawing With Pokemon (Paint SAI + Wacom)

In this hour long class we will take our favorite pokemon and learn how to draw them digitally using advanced linearting, shading, and coloring techniques!

Class Experience

Objective: We will explore different techniques in lineart, shading, and coloring on a digital software platform. Due to the advanced nature of this class- it is highly recommended students that enroll are already familiar with drawing digitally. 

How?
I will be demonstrating within the Paint SAI software via a Wacom tablet, however students can use similar programs and tablets. Learners will be able to list their favorite pokemon in the welcome email-from there I will pick the most popular choices to use as subjects in this class. While it is recommended students follow along with the same instructor pokemon, they can use a different pokemon but will have to adapt the skills we explore for their particular subject. 

In class:
Class will begin with a quick 5 minute warm up sketch
Linearting (approx. 20 mins): learning how to utilize stabilizer/density features for smoother lines 
Coloring (approx. 10 mins): jumping into developing color pallets and deciding tones for our subject
Shading (approx. 20 mins): manipulating different layers and opacity features to create shadows within our subjects

Student engagement: Students will be able to engage with each other with pokemon based discussions and sharing drawings.

Other Details

Supply List

Learners will need a software from where they can digitally draw from (i.e Adobe photoshop, paint sai, clipart, procreate, etc.)
Learners will also need a way to draw digitally (i.e. any tablet with a pen operation, bamboo tablet, wacom tablet, etc.)

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello friends!

I'm excited to provide classes for students interested in advanced digital drawing, popular pokemon/anime, animals, and wildlife! 

While majority of my educational and work background has been concentrated with ecology and animal conservation, I also have experience in digital drawing thanks to my personal work as a freelance artist!

When I was little, school was difficult for me until I worked 1 on 1 with a tutor that help me engage and focus on learning. After that I loved school and wanted to learn more and more about everything-especially anything science related! So I strongly believe that working 1 on 1 or with just a small group of students is more beneficial than a large class setting!
