Welcome to the fifth course of the ADHD and Me Series. ***This course is offered more consistently as part of the Semester courses that teach 101-601, if you would like to take the full series at the same day and time each week, please see the Executive Functioning Semester courses or the Class Packs (101-301 and 401-601) series. In large settings students with ADHD can feel overwhelmed, frustrated and anxious…clouding thoughts and emotions. In this course series you will understand how to find and use the dynamics of your ADHD mind, harness your superpower, ignite new thought patterns and grasps on to your uniqueness through interactive activity models that will focus on streamlining executive function skills. We will work together on a process to find which skills are your strengths and how we can decrease anxiety and increase logical thinking. My ADHD and Me series is divided into multiple- one section classes; each will focus on breaking down executive function for understanding and implementation. We incorporation activities into each lesson that encourage healthy ways for brain brakes. ADHD 101-Organizational Skills ADHD 201 -Prioritizing – understanding your strengths and weakness ADHD 301- Controlling Impulses and Emotions ADHD 401- Flexible Thinking -Understanding your Superpower – Hyper Focus *ADHD 501-Self Monitoring – targeted techniques for slowing down ADHD 601 – The Magical Mind –(biography/English) famous, successful ADHD-ers *This class posting is for ADHD 501-Self Monitoring - Targeted Techniques for Slowing Down. Each of the courses in this series are listed as one time courses. I hope you enjoy ADHD 501, and I look forward to future classes together. (There are many offerings each month, it you want to get the most out of the series it is best to build on them and take them in order, although it is not necessary). There is no prior knowledge to take this course, although taking ADHD 101, 201, 301 and 401 are recommend and a desire to learn and understand their lifelong superpower of ADHD. *Please note my courses do book up quickly, transfer requests within 24hrs of the class beginning will not be honored as that spot was held for the student who purchased it. Learning Goals
Learning Goals and Objectives for ADHD and Me 501:
Students will learn self monitoring techniques to know when their stress is high, productivity low or heightened distraction.
Students will learn target techniques to help them focus on what the body and mind is telling them.
Students will continue to learn the use of active awareness.
Students will learn to listen to their body and mind and gauge when to slow down physically or through thoughts.
Students will learn self-awareness and self-knowledge skills to focus on internal controls.

I have a Masters in Cross-Categorical Special Education with an emphasis in high-incidence needs and a Bachelor of Psychology with specific courses in Motivation and Emotion, Physiological Psychology, and Principals and Learning, which guide my teachings and tools for students and adults with ADHD.
I have over 11 years in the standard classroom setting (K-12) and over 2 years ESL online teaching. I have been honored to be a special education director, dean of students and work as a trainer of other district staff at the state department level.
Areas of specialty: Special education [Autism-Asperger (social & communication), ADHD, and SLD], Art - (fine art classes, studio art & art therapy), Fashion design (sewing technique & couture training). I will be offering a range of classes in these areas for K-12 and updating often so be sure to check back for new courses.
