In this one-session class, your learner will learn how to solve word problems. This class is perfect for visual learns and children that enjoy drawing. Your learner will learn how to read a word problem and create an illustration. We will do addition number stories. Your child will receive easy to follow instructions. Throughout this class, your child will see lots of visuals and will engage in hands-on experiences. I structured this lesson around a well thought out sequence with plenty of opportunities for discussion and interaction. Your child should be familiar with addition math strategies: (Not a Requirement) *Counting on a number line *Counting with cubes *Counting with tallies etc.
Learning Goals
The student will learn how to read a word problem and solve it. They will be able to visualize the problem and create an equation to find the answer to the word problem. They will create illustrations and using multiple strategies to solve the equation.

Your child will need a pencil and crayons. Please, print out handouts before the start of class.
