US Grade 1
During each class, a new concept will be introduced to students through slides. These math activities will focus on helping students learn number bonds, practice ten frame addition, ten numbers using place value chart, and practice subtraction. This is a great refresher course for students who want to review. And a great introduction class for those just learning addition and subtraction. Learners will receive seasonally-themed worksheets prior to the start of their first class. Because this is an ongoing course students can join in at any time and learn a new skill or review one they have already learned. Students will be utilizing music and movement s to enhance their learning. Movement concepts should be repeated throughout the day to reinforce concepts learned and to bridge the movement lesson through the rest of the day. Math concepts learned in the lesson are listed as follows: number bonds, comparing numbers, introduce a place value chart, ten frames, ten frame addition, ten frame subtraction, Numberline Introduction, Numberline addition, and number line subtraction Each learner will be provided with supplemental materials after each lesson. I believe students learn best through play and hands-on activities, so students will have plenty of time to talk and share ideas when concepts are being introduced. We will enjoy singing songs to help us learn new math skills
