Class Experience

This class will teach students how to add mixed numbers with common denominators. The mixed number problems in this lesson do not require regrouping. Students will use real world examples, models, and pictures to solve problems. Students need prior knowledge of fractions and adding basic fractions before taking this class.

Students will be using the Nearpod website to complete this interactive lesson. I believe that learning should be interactive and engaging. Students will work throughout the class and we will discuss student answers while viewing them on screen. Student names will not be shown while viewing the work examples.

Students will have time to ask questions and complete a game at the end of the lesson, after the learning slides, to show what they have learned!

Learning Goals

Students will learn how to add mixed numbers during this class.
