Class Experience

This is a flex version of my live Math with Integers class.

Having a solid foundation in integers is an essential math skill. I will post a short video each Sunday evening of myself teaching the material and will provide a practice worksheet to go with the video. Three times a week, I will post a chat on the classroom page asking questions, answering questions, checking in, or posting complex problems and learners should respond. Students will play Quizizz games (at quizizz.com - no sign in required) to practice the material.

Week 1 - introduction to integers, the definition and real life integers
Week 2 - adding integers with the same sign
Week 3 - adding integers with different signs
Week 4 - subtracting integers

The goal of this class is that learners will become confident in performing addition and subtraction with integers.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a math teacher excited to be teaching outside of a traditional classroom. I have been teaching for 16 years and have diverse experience and a M.Ed in Mathematics Education. I have taught middle school, high school, and at the university level. I believe that all students can learn math and be successful in math. It is exciting for me to discover how each student learns and teach them in that way. I look forward to meeting many different students and having fun while learning math. I'm excited to explore different topics outside of traditional math as well thanks to this amazing platform.
