Add and Subtract with and without Regrouping with Fun Games
New class
Ages 6-10
Live Group Class
In this ongoing class, students will learn strategies to add and subtract double digital numbers with and without regrouping and practice their skills while playing fun games.
In this fun and interactive ongoing class, students will practice adding and subtracting double digital numbers within 100 with and without regrouping by playing an interactive game with their peers.
Each class will spend the first half teaching and reviewing the steps to solve an addition and subtraction problem. I will teach how to solve the problem in several different ways including using the standard algorithm and visual representations. I will use the strategy based on what the class needs.
The last half of the class we will practice solving problems together, and a few word problems while we play a fun game together.
Each class we will play a different game that allows students to interact, collaborate, have conversation and most importantly, have a blast practicing adding and subtracting and building fluency skills with each other! We will play all of the games together as a group, as teams or students vs teacher. Some games will be on the computer using sites like Nearpod.
Games are a fun way to practice math! Practicing math facts will help with memorization, recalling facts and the steps to solve equations faster. And what better way than to practice than with games!
Games we will play in the week of
June 16th-Zap!
June 23- Hide and seek
June 30th-board game
July 7th- memory game

Hello! My name is Natalie! I am a former Special Education Resource Teacher of 4 years and I have now taught online for 5 years.
I love teaching with games! I believe math should be fun. When students are having fun, their confidence in their math skills and in themselves grow.
I love teaching students new strategies to solve multiplication problems. Everyone learns differently and everyone can absolutely learn and succeed. I love seeing my students finally understand math and have a blast learning!
Math is often viewed as hard, boring and daunting. It is my goal to make math fun through teaching and practicing through fun games.
I want students to feel successful and tackle a math problem with confidence!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my own kids, hiking, biking and reading.
