This one-time class will be an engaging and active story time! We will be reading and acting out the story, "Once Upon a Witch's Broom" by Beatrice Blue. This is the same author/illustrator of "Once Upon a Unicorn Horn" "Once Upon a Dragon's Fire" and "Once Upon a Mermaid's Tail" (which are other popular storytime classes that I offer). I absolutely love how Beatrice Blue's stories transport the reader to a magical place and provide a positive message at the end of the story. "Once Upon a Witch's Broom" is about a little girl called Moira, who receives a magic relic but is unable to make her magic powers shine like her best friend, Lily. Moira experiences frustration and doubt as she struggles to fly. Lily helps Moira discover that it isn't only the relic that will help her fly but it is the magic within herself! The very important message that I will discuss with children in my class is that we can only be the best version of OURSELVES and that we don't have to perfect. It is important to try to not compare ourselves to others and to always try our best! My teaching style is very active, animated and inclusive. I love seeing children get just as excited as I am to use their imagination and immerse themselves into a story. At the end of this story we will discuss what the story was about, likes/dislikes, the important message, and I will prompt specific questions about the main characters/plot.

Students will foster their imagination, improve their communication and inference skills, boost their listening abilities and build their confidence in my classroom!:)

We will be using the book, "Once Upon a Witch's Broom" by Beatrice Blue for our fun story-time class! During our story-time class I will have a powerpoint of close-up pages/pictures of this story for better visibility, while I am reading the hardcover story. In the classroom, I will attach "Under The Sea" coloring sheets that are just for fun and optional to use before or after our class:)

My name is Teacher Nicole. I am very excited to teach your child! I am very energetic and I love children. From my experience as an elementary teacher in London, England I had a lot of fun teaching drama story time. I want to continue doing this though the classes I will offer on Outschool. At heart, I am a story-teller and I love sharing stories with children from around the world. It is my passion to make stories come to life! I have a Kindergarten/Elementary Bachelor of Education from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. I have obtained my 120 hour TEFL course certification. I am a certified teacher in three Canadian provinces: Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia! I spent 3.5 years teaching elementary level children in London, England. I had my own grade 3 classroom for two years! It was a wonderful experience. I also had the opportunity of living and teaching adorable elementary children in South Korea.
