Class experience
When the actor believes, we believe. The child’s natural instinct for play is the foundation of the actor’s process. Using the game of make believe to get into the “shoes” of the character, we begin to play with the possibilities that game invites in us. In order to believe I am the character, I must begin to learn all I can about who “I” am in the role: what surrounds and affects me, what I know, where I have been and where I am going; what I want, and what I do to get it or to make it...
I have been in the acting industry since a very young child, acting in theatre years. From there, I went on to study film through coaches in LA and London. I have taught over 4000 actors and have helped them to successfully prepare for their careers in acting. On average, 80% of my students have gone on to book work in film, tv and commercials. My classes are interactive as I feel hands on learning in acting IS the only way. Students will learn through my various programs how to analyze and score scripts, build characters, relationship development, improv, auditioning techniques and method acting techniques. We will work on both scenes and monologues.(depending on the course) I am connected in the media world, as a global reputable talent agent and notable acting teacher, to help guide you in the right direction to ensure you get the best out of this course and beyond. Homework Offered
Outside of class time it is expected that the students will be committing one hour minimum per day to ensure their excellence in the collaborative group environment. Students are expected to keep up with the homework each week. If a student misses a class they are expected to watch the recorded video and if they have any questions then to reach out to me. It is imperative that the student stays up-to-date with their work for successful completion of the program.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
At the end of the 12 week course each student will be emailed out an assessment reports with advice on areas to strengthen.Grades Offered
We definitely recommend having a printer to be able to print out any materials that you need. It is industry standard that when you receive an audition that you will print the script. We also would recommend that you have a notepad, highlighters, pencils, eraser, sharpener, and a bottle of water and anything else you need to be comfortable. We do ask that you do not eat during class.
This class is rated PG-13. Sometimes we will use scripts that are rated PG 14. Please let us now upon registering if you are OK with that or would like approval prior to.
Students may need to do research on Google for their characters and other assignments. Please bring to class a notebook, pencil and eraser and a water to keep you hydrated. It is highly recommended that you have a printer for this program to print out the short scenes and or monologues. However it is not necessary, as it is good practice to have the students write out their line so it helps them memorize.
