In this course, students will be actively engaged in practicing testing strategies, close reading strategies, speed reading with accuracy through modeled annotation.

Class Experience

ACT English preparation will include test taking strategies, annotation, and reading comprehension.  
Students will practice real ACT questions.  The class is a 1:1 class that will be taught synchronously.  Students are expected to be fully engaged and focused.  Students will be able to analyze text and offer a deeper level of understanding by the end of the class.

I will demonstrate or model specific strategies for students to be confident readers.  The class is a 1:1 class that will be held weekly.  Learners will be highly interactive with the teacher and the text they test they will be reading.  Students do not need any prior experience to be able to complete the course.  They will need a pencil, the required text (if available), and paper.

Hello everyone,
I teach students of all ages reading comprehension, testing strategies (ACT, SAT, CogAT), and executive functioning skills mastery.  I teach ACT English and reading; SAT Reading, Writing and Language.   I have taught reading in the university, community college and public schools for grades K-12.  

I have active certifications in English Language Arts, Gifted Education, and School Administration.  

I believe all students have the ability to learn and be creative.   I like to focus on life long strategies that support Critical Reading in all content areas so students are not only successful in Reading but all subjects.

My biggest passion is working with students on reading strategies, independent learning projects, and I enjoy analyzing movies and writing screen plays.
