Class Experience

Students will learn the basics of acting. They will learn to let their imaginations fly while learning to listen and learn from other students.
I received my BFA in Acting and Musical Theatre from The University of the Arts. For the last six years, I have taught courses including Intro to Theatre, Theatre 101, and Theatre and Movement in a variety of theaters in Philadelphia, to students ages 4-14. For ten years, I volunteered as a theatre and music teacher.

As a professional actress, I have performed with The National Theatre for Children, The National Constitution Center, and the National Tour of the Broadway show, The Lightning Thief.
The learners will need an open workspace (a place where they can open their arms and legs wide without hitting anyone or anything). They will need a cup or bottle of water when needed. They will need closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This is not only a theatre class but also a low impact physical fitness class. Safety is very important to me, as well as, Outschool. Students will need an open workout space. I advise that the students have tennis shoes or closed-toed shoes (no high-heels, clogs, or sandals). There will be stretching at the top of the class so no prior stretching is necessary. The students should also have water nearby when needed. I also suggest that students wear clothing that they feel comfortable moving in. Because this is an active class, I ask that parents be present in the class, or nearby, to supervise the young learners in case of any unforeseen injuries.

If the student is in a wheelchair or needs any other special requirements, please let me know prior to class. They absolutely should feel comfortable to take this class. I will make any adjustments to the course.
