Class Experience

After the huge success and fun of my one-time class, Create Your Own Superhero To Save the World, let's create even more fun by making it an ongoing class! In this on-your-feet imagination and theatre class, the students will use introductory acting skills like pantomime and improv to create an original, unique superhero character. Students will use their imaginations to form the characters' powers, strengths, costumes, and more. Each week we will add to our Superhero world with villains, sidekicks, super pets, and more! Each child will be guided to use movement as a way of storytelling. This class is for students who are excited to act, play, move, and stretch their voices. The class will begin with a physical warm-up and a creative theatre game. After that, the students will create a group story about how their superhero would help a world in need! All genders are welcomed and invited to take this class. No prior theatre knowledge is required.

Parental Guidance
This is not only a theatre class but also a low impact physical fitness class. Safety is very important to me, as well as, Outschool. Students will need an open workout space. I advise that the students have tennis shoes or closed-toed shoes (no high-heels, clogs, or sandals). There will be stretching at the top of the class so no prior stretching is necessary. The students should also have water nearby when needed. I also suggest that students wear clothing that they feel comfortable moving in. Because this is an active class, I ask that parents be present in the class, or nearby, to supervise the young learners in case of any unforeseen injuries. If the student is in a wheelchair or needs any other special requirements, please let me know prior to class. They absolutely should feel comfortable to take this class. I will make any adjustments to the course.
Supply List
The learners will need an open workspace (a place where they can open their arms and legs wide without hitting anyone or anything). They will need a cup or bottle of water when needed. They will need closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothes.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
