Students will follow a step by step tutorial on painting the mushrooms using acrylic paints. Students will learn basic acrylic painting techniques including the care of brushes/materials, mixing colors, brush strokes and selecting correct brushes for each step. This course is a one time class for an individual or small class. Students will become more confident in their creativity and learn techniques for acrylic painting.

There is no homework, yet students will be encouraged to revisit their completed paintings to decide on any other details or changes to make.
Pencil Paper or canvas (something to paint on) Paper plate or palette (something to put paint on) Two brushes (a smaller brush for details and a larger brush for background and bigger areas) Jar/cup of water Paper towels/napkin/cloth Acrylic Paints: White (for spots on mushrooms and for blending) Red (for mushroom caps) Brown (for mushroom stems) Green (dark for background or a dark blue) Blue (for glowing lights or background too) Yellow (for glowing lights and for blending with green for grass/ferns) *You may use a white paint pen for dots on the mushrooms if you wish, but we will be learning to do so with white paint.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are assessed through their enjoyment and participation in the class and their completed painting. Most importantly, students will hopefully walk away from class more confident in their creative abilities.
1 hour per week in class, and no time outside of class.
