Acoustic Guitar for Absolute Beginners : Playful Exploration

During this half-hour interactive group class, your student will gain familiarity with the guitar as they play for fun in a friendly and encouraging environment! As they tinker with the guitar alongside fellow musical beginners, each student should feel at ease to explore and learn at their own pace. Students will also pick up techniques as they observe an experienced guitarist, and are guided step-by-step through important techniques and tips. Learners are given the space to practice the techniques in class, or focus on creative musical expression utilizing their own musical methods of playing. 

Throughout the class, learners can expect to do a little observing as I demonstrate and explain techniques, and a lot of playing as they practice and explore! We will create music using our guitars as we listen to child-friendly songs that may include Nursery Rhymes (ie Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star) or Kidz Bop versions of songs (ie Kidz Bop Dance Monkey)

This class will provide Learners with knowledge of:
*The parts of the guitar and how to hold this instrument
*Strings do many things! Low sounds, high sounds, loud sounds, twangy sounds, and so much more that we shall explore...
*Strumming patterns come in all different forms from flowy to funky
*Guitar Chords- Learn the chord E-Minor, try other existing chords, or create new guitar chords
*Advanced techniques (but in a fun way!) including hammer-ons, pull-offs, fingerstyle-strumming

This class will strengthen your student's skills and confidence in a positive atmosphere that prioritizes fun over 'perfect' technique. It's a great way to introduce your child to the magnificent musical world!

Incoming learners do not need to have any musical experience. Just a guitar and some excitement to make music with it among new friends!
