Beginner - Advanced Level
One-on-One Reading Comprehension and Test Prep In this personalized one-on-one class, students will engage with a licensed teacher to enhance their reading comprehension skills and prepare effectively for upcoming tests. Each student will begin their journey with a comprehensive assessment designed to identify specific areas of improvement and gaps in knowledge. Based on the results of this assessment, students will receive tailored instruction that targets their unique learning needs, ensuring that they build a strong foundation in reading skills. The curriculum will focus on: Reading Comprehension: Students will learn strategies for understanding and analyzing texts, including identifying main ideas, making inferences, and summarizing information. Test Preparation: Students will practice and develop effective test-taking strategies to boost their confidence and performance on standardized assessments. We believe that collaboration is key to student success. Therefore, parent suggestions and expertise are welcomed to help create an individualized plan that meets each student's needs. Together, we will work to empower students to excel in their reading abilities and achieve their academic goals.
Learning Goals
Students will concentrate on enhancing their reading abilities using various techniques like visualizing, summarizing, and chunking.Students will be taught to respond to comprehension questions in various assessment formats, including multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and open response.

Pre-Requisites for Comprehension Tutoring:
- Students should be able to read grade-level text independently.
- Ready to level up and get involved in all the fun activities.
- Shows off those top-notch phonemic skills and decoding prowess.
Supply List
Students will need a notebook and pencil.
Sources
We will be using teacher-made sources and a curriculum called commonlit.org for instruction. Additionally, we will use state wide available curriculum for some forms of test prep. Students will also need paper and pencil to practice reading strategies. PDF versions of material will be provided upon request.
