Class Experience

Named after the book written by instructor, industry professional and mom Liz Ortiz,  Ace Your Acting Audition is a one day course guiding your child towards what casting directors, agents and managers are looking for in successful young actors. Students will learn in a playful manner, a series of "Audition Hot Tips" which can be put into immediate practice during the class. We will cover the genres of potential audition opportunities such as commercial, film/TV, stage and the different audition techniques for each. This class is designed for multiple levels, all that is needed is the desire to perform and learn about becoming an acting professional. Please note: purchasing of the book is NOT a requirement, optional purchases does profit the instructor.  This class is intended for educational and informational purposes only.  Profiting from industry introductions and implication of promised work is strictly prohibited.

Instructor Bio:
Liz Ortiz is a NYC based casting director and award winning indie film producer/director credited on projects which have screened at hundreds of film festivals such as Sundance, BAM Cinemafest, Toronto, Brooklyn, Palm Springs, Queens World, HBO Latino, and Urban World among others. Projects have aired on CBS, HBO, Showtime, Lifetime Movies and Cinemax. Casting and producing highlights include: Advantageous (Sundance premiere and a top selection on Netflix); Lost Revolution (HBO Latino); Zombue Honeymoon (Showtime cult classic); Barrio Boy (currently in post-production); And... Seen (writer/producer/director) a feature documentary, winner of multiple awards. Liz cast the U.S. premiere of the experiential stage production Prurience for the Guggenheim Museum,  is currently casting a multi-cultural television pilot and attached to cast the feature film Hanging by a Thread produced by Viola Davis and Julius Tennon’s company, JuVee Productions. She is also the author of the acclaimed book Ace Your Acting Audition, in addition to teaching, private coaching and conducting workshops throughout the year.
