This fun & exciting 7-week Science Preparatory Camp will provide your rising 4th grader with a head start in the upcoming school year. In addition, these concepts will also better equip your child when they take their state test this year.

What's included

7 live meetings
5 hrs 15 mins in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. The students will have homework after each class. They will be asked recall and open-ended questions where they will have to apply what they learned to correctly answer the question. I ask that the students review what was what they learned every day. Optional: I ask that the students dedicate 20 minutes of study time each day.
Assessment
The students will be assessed as they engage in discussions and as they interact in a question-answer session at the end of class. This will guide my instruction. I will review what the students need.

Class Experience

US Grade 4
This fun & exciting Science Preparatory Camp takes a modified, thematic approach to 4th Grade Science. The students will be introduced to the major themes in 4th grade science. This camp will provide your rising 4th grader with a head start in the upcoming school year. In addition, these concepts will also better equip your child when they take their state test this year. The following topics will be discussed:
Week 1 - Animal Adaptations
 - Animals receive Information through their Senses
Week 2 - Plant Adaptations
Week 3 - Energy Transfer
Week 4 - Heat Transfer
Week 5 - Electricity & Electric currents
Week 6 - Waves
Week 7 - Rock formation
Different modes of instruction will be used. The students will be taught using pictures, video clips, slides, discussions, lecture, independent reading, and open-ended questions. Students will learn about plant and animal adaptations. This section will be taught using pictures, video clips, slides, discussions, lecture, independent reading, and open-ended questions. The students will learn how energy is transferred. This will be taught using pictures, video clips, slides, discussions, lecture, independent reading, and open-ended questions. The students require the 3rd grade science course.
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to major 4th grade science concepts. After a very challenging year, they will build up their confidence. The students will be able to apply what they learn when taking their state assessment. The students will improve their understanding of the world around them.
