Students will watch a slide show about Yayoi Kasama, "The Princess of Polka Dots" and look at her many pieces of art, as well as sculptures and installations. This will expose the children to art that is not just on a canvas. They will see art that features lights in a room or sculptures on the street. We will talk about the movement of Abstract Expressionism and Modern Art. Students will then be directed in creating their own piece of art. It will begin with a simple object and we will fill it with polka dots and color, in the same style as Yayoi Kasama.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I AM CURRENTLY TAKING A BREAK FROM OUTSCHOOL TO GO BACK INTO THE CLASSROOM. I WILL BE BACK!!!!!! PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR CLASSES AND I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN I RETURN
Hello. I have been an art teach for 7 years as an employee of Art Masters Legacy. I teach a one hour lesson in the classroom to students in TK - 6th grade and special needs students. I attended college to become a teacher. I did not become a teacher right after college. I worked as an event planner and began teaching when my children were in elementary school. I absolutely love what I do. I call it my jobby. Art is my hobby and teaching it to students is my job. I draw like a child. I think it inspires the students and makes it obtainable for them! I am relateable. I make the lesson fun while breaking it down into very simple steps. I have been told by many teachers that I a have amazing classroom control.
