Class Experience

In the wilderness, or survival situation, it is vitally important to know how to react when faced with distressing circumstances. The human body is remarkable and can withstand minimal resources. Learners will learn how to react to various external conditions that can be critical to save their life. In this course we will have an open discussion where students are able to brainstorm ways to react to several situations outlined. Following the peer discussion we will go over the ways to survive those extreme climates, conditions and elements out of our control, such as falling into a frozen water, the best source of protein in the wilderness, what happens to our body in extreme heat, best way to conserve our energy for survival and the best resources to keep our body functional- to name a few. Students will learn the various ways to locate animal paths to find their resources, learn plant transpiration and how we can gather the water from this process. Each class will have students learning not only impeccable skills but the science behind it. Students will be taught how to source water in many ways and learn how to remove debris and microorganisms. This ongoing class will dive into so many fun concepts regarding the human anatomy, distressing conditions, survival situations all while teaching them the biology of life. How, why and what to do when elements are out of their control.

- Locating Water
- Comparing bodies of water molecular properties for contamination & learning to clean it
- Building a shelter for optimal health
- Sleeping Arrangements
- Finding food (edible plants, berries, mushrooms, animals)
- Dangerous animals: Identifying, avoiding, and defending against.
- Extreme climate survival
- Extreme Malnutrition + Dehydration
- Protection against external elements
- Viruses + Bacteria
- How to stay safe: stranger danger

I encourage class participation, and will continuously engage learners. This class is excellent for parents that want their students to learn science in a fun engaged way.

This is an ongoing class, meeting once a week, and every week we discuss a new topic. After 10 weeks, which is the total amount of classes per segment. We repeat. So if your student joins in the middle or end, as long as they are enrolled they will eventually learn about each topic. There are no prerequisites for any classes, meaning you do not need to take them in any order.

** if your learner has taken water survival from me the first two sessions will align with that curriculum but slower & more in depth **
