Have you ever wondered what was on the menu at a Tudor feast? Or have you ever wanted to see how castles were decorated for the holidays in Medieval and Renaissance England? Would you like to bring in a little Tudor winter festivity into your own home? All of these answers and much more will be covered in this one time, sixty minute class. Class will begin with a brief lecture on who the Tudor monarchs were: Henry VII through to Elizabeth I. Our holiday discussions will then take place in four parts: • Food • Decorations • Entertainments • Traditions Visual presentation slides will be included in the discussion. Students are encouraged to discuss the lecture and ask questions. Students will be provided with recipes and crafts to try at home in preparation for the holidays. Instructions and recipes for these will be posted in a Word document and uploaded to the classroom.
Learning Goals
By the end of the class, students will all be able to take a little of the Tudor yule tide into their own homes for their winter holiday season.
