US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner Level
In this ongoing class, each week students will learn about a new state from the United States of America. This class is an excellent opportunity to foster and gain knowledge of state facts and geography. We will explore topics such as the state capital, state flag/flower, agriculture of the region, food culture, dialect, and geography. Students will be able to record their findings on a notebook page as they work through the various states. Before each class, the teacher will announce the state of the week. If students live in a particular state, they will be encouraged to find a state fact to share with the class during our live meeting. The teacher will also be able to suggest additional books to read outside of class for any student who wishes to learn more about a particular state. This class and the discussions will primarily be led by the students and their interests within state facts, geography and some history.
