Beginning our class with introductions and an affirmation to set the tone for our learning environment. We then will move onto introducing our learning objectives and key points of the lesson. In this class we will focus on the life and history of Black Caesar , Mary Read, and Black Beard. Through a guided discussion and brief topic related videos, we will explore a variety of topics like; sea travel/life, pirate culture and beliefs, as well as what was causing people to become pirates. In our discussion learners will have the opportunity to not only gain new knowledge on pirate history and lore but also share their thoughts and opinions around the subject. To recap all that has been learned, a variety of worksheets that highlight vocabulary and summarizing the material are provided for learners.
Learning Goals
Gain basic knowledge and understanding of who Black Caesar , Mary Read, and Black Beard were, as well as their careers as pirates.
Introduction into the historical time period of pirates and sea travels/journeying to new territories.
Learn and define vocabulary relevant to pirates, sea travel, and boats

Parental Guidance
This lesson will discuss topics of looting, raiding, war, battles, death, and dieses. All topics have been researched heavily and will be transcribed into an age appropriate manner.
