A Not-So-Scary Kinder Costume Party
This one-time 45 minute party will include dancing, interactive games, virtual Trick-or-Treating, and a costume parade. Everyone will have a chance to show off their costumes and share their excitement for Halloween.

Happy Halloween! This one-time 45 minute class will run like a virtual party and although there will be tidbits of edutainment sprinkled throughout (Did you know bats help bananas grow?), the focus of this class will be to celebrate Halloween while practicing social skills, communication, creativity, and self-expression. Miss Krystina will start with a quick introduction and welcome activity to give everyone a chance to settle and join in. Then there will be a most fang-tastic costume parade and each learner will have a turn to show and tell everyone about their costume. There will be dancing to spook-tacular tunes and a scavenger hunt to see how many not-so-scary Halloween-related items learners can find nearby. Learners will have the opportunity to interact with one another during Trick-or-Treating, which will be a fun virtual twist on the classic Halloween door-to-door tradition. 5min - Welcome Activity 10min - Costume Parade 10min - Dance Party 10min - Scavenger Hunt 10min - Trick-or-Treat! Learners will be sent a virtual goody bag to print and enjoy after the party. The virtual goody bag will be Halloween-themed and include at least one coloring page and at least one activity sheet. PLEASE NOTE: No prior dance or other experience is required to participate. All learners should wear a costume to the party, though their costume can be as simple or extravagant as they would like. All costumes must be age appropriate and culturally sensitive. Older siblings are welcome to enroll and attend this class with their younger siblings as long as they are okay with the activities being catered to learners age 4-6. ***Please review all information below prior to signing up to ensure this class is the right fit for your learner.***
Learning Goals
This party will give learners the opportunity to practice their social and communication skills, as well as develop their confidence, creativity, and self-expression. We will practice listening, interacting with one another, and learn introductory Halloween-themed dance moves.

Parental Guidance
Learners will need an open space to be able to participate in this class as this costume party will include physical activity and movement-based games. Learners should have enough space to show off their full costume. Learners should also have a parent or guardian nearby supervising to assist with zoom settings if needed and help their learner if they have any difficulty in their costume. PLEASE MAKE SURE LEARNER'S COSTUMES ARE AGE APPROPRIATE, SAFE TO DANCE IN, AND CULTERALLY SENSITIVE.
Supply List
Learners are asked to dress up in a costume for this class. Their costume can be as simple as dressing up in their favorite color or as extravagant as wearing a full suit head to toe. All costumes must be age appropriate and culturally sensitive, and should be comfortable to wear during basic physical movement. Learners are welcome to wear a mask as part of their costume, but are asked to begin class with their mask off and be able to remove it during interactive activities, if needed.

Hello! My name is Krystina Chabursky (she/her) and I go by "Miss Krystina" on Outschool. I'm a dance instructor turned circus coach turned superhero trainer (aka Agent K), and I work in the entertainment industry as an actor, dancer, and aerialist. I firmly believe that learning should be fun and love incorporating edutainment into all my classes. Parties, too! There is room in my studio and classroom for all learners, no matter their background or beliefs, and I strive to offer a safe and inclusive space for my students, always. More about me:
An energetic and imaginative storyteller, Krystina has over 15 years' experience working with children as a dance instructor, circus coach, and performing artist in children's entertainment. She grew up dancing at a competitive level, training extensively in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, and Acro, and went on to study Musical Theatre at Randolph College for the Performing Arts in Toronto, ON, Canada. She later joined the circus and furthered her studies in acrobatics, juggling, and aerial arts, eventually becoming a circus coach and overseeing the performance-based programs for one of the top circus schools in Toronto. Krystina is now living in Southern California where she continues to pursue a career as a performing artist alongside a career as an educator. Krystina also teaches online part time and loves having the opportunity to engage with learners all over the world from her virtual classroom. The performing arts have always been and continue to be Krystina's drive, her dream, and her passion. She enjoys sharing that passion with her students and hopes to ignite in them the same spark that fluttered within her so many years ago.
