This class is jammed packed with lessons and activities that will provide students with the opportunity to build a strong foundation for reading and understanding time. Students will learn how to read and write time in both digital and analog formats, understand elapsed time, and use time to solve real-world problems. This is a self paced class, which means students can go through the course at their own pace to suit their personal learning style and schedule. This class was originally designed to be spread out over 4 weeks, one unit a week, for maximum retention and practice therefore, each unit is labeled as week 1, week 2 etc. Let me know if you have further questions Debbie

Unit 1 Basics of Telling Time
Unit 1 will focus on the basics of reading a clock, including understanding the hour and minute hand, and recognizing the numbers on a clock face. Students will also learn how to tell time to the nearest hour, half hour, quarter hour, and five minutes.

Lesson 2:
Unit 2 Elapsed Time
Unit 2 students will dive deeper into elapsed time, which is the amount of time that has passed between two events. This is a critical skill for students to master as it lays the foundation for more advanced mathematical concepts.

Lesson 3:
Unit 3 Converting Time
Unit 3 will introduce students to the concept of time in terms of seconds, minutes, and hours, and they will learn how to convert between these units. Students will also learn how to calculate time intervals, such as the amount of time between two events.

Students will occasionally be asked to use scissors to cut out math materials for lessons prior to class. Parental guidance is recommended.

Welcome! My name is Debbie and I am a certified teacher with a Bachelors of Science in Education with a concentration in the visual arts. I also hold Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on math and science. I have been lucky enough throughout my career to have taught grades K through 6 and be a math and reading interventionist. Math is one of my favorite subjects to teach and I love thinking of creative ways to get students to love it too and gain confidence.
