*This is a beginner's class, so previous knowledge of explorers history is not necessary.
*I will provide a lecture style with PowerPoint to begin the lesson, but we will quickly transition to conversations, video clips, activities, timelines, etc. to foster a multi-level thinking environment on exploration of the planet Earth.
*Every week, I will provide handouts and graphic organizers to instruct and enhance their note taking during the PowerPoint and following conversations and activities.

We will use the Smithsonian DK Publishing book "Explorers: Amazing Tales of the World's Greatest Adventurers" written by Nellie Huang. I will be adding PowerPoints, video clips, worksheets, timelines, etc. to facilitate my (and hopefully, their) love of history.

*Students will be responsible for reading the assigned sections every week. Each student must have their own copy of the book.

Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom (including 4th grade and Texas History); substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level (History); assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. My Bachelors is in childhood education with a Master's in American History.
