In this beginner's course, learners will explore the basic functions of the Procreate app. This includes setting up the perfect digital canvas, going through the app's interface (which is very user-friendly), and understanding digital brushes, layers, and color settings. I will provide live demonstrations on my iPad while learners explore on theirs at the same time. Learners are encouraged to ask questions, and have discussions about what we're learning. There is no prior knowledge needed for this course.
Students will need: -an iPad that is compatible with Procreate -Procreate app -a digital stylus that is compatible with personal device (such as Apple Pencil)
Hey there! My name is Ms. Jess and I love to teach all things creative, especially digital art, fiber arts, and modern calligraphy! I also love to teach general elementary art, and digital planning. If you'd like to suggest a class in these areas that you are not seeing available, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I have had a love for creating art since I was a child. I became an elementary art teacher in 2015, after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art from Alfred University. I currently teach in two public elementary schools, but also have three years of experience teaching middle school art. I also run my own illustration/lettering freelance business that I started in 2018.
Everyone is welcome in my classroom, and it is my belief that everyone is an artist. Creating art without self-judgement can relieve stress and be very healing. I actively try my best to create a nurturing classroom environment where all voices can be heard, whether face-to-face or remote.
When I am not teaching, I am raising my two year old son, creating art of my own, and/or listening to spooky podcasts!
Can't wait to work with your learner!
-Ms. Jess
