Dive into the world of math as we explore and apply mathematical concepts to real-life situations! This course will cover the entire 7th-grade math curriculum throughout the year, with opportunities for optional homework, projects, and assessments, while building on your existing knowledge. Topics include: Semester 1 (16 weeks)* Unit 1: Ratios and Proportional Relationships Unit 2: The Number System Semester 2: (20 weeks) Unit 3: Expressions and Equations Unit 4: Geometry Unit 5: Statistics and Probability *Note: there will be a 2 week holiday break in December as well as a week break in November and April We will also cover the Mathematical Practices. Mathematical Practices 1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. 2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively. 3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. 4. Model with mathematics. 5. Use appropriate tools strategically. 6. Attend to precision. 7. Look for and make use of structure. 8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.

Students will learn the 7th grade common core mathematical concepts including Ratios and Proportional Relationships, The Number System, Expressions and Equations, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability.

Pre-Requisites
7th Grade Math Mastery: A Full-Year Journey will be a comprehensive full year course following the common core standards for 7th grade math. Students should have mastered most of the 6th grade math concepts prior to beginning this course.

Ms. Emi has is highly qualified and taught middle school mathematics (6th-8th grade) in Colorado. She has a Bachelor's Degree in special education and a minor in applied mathematics. She has taught intervention math, 5th-8th grade math, as well as high school remedial and life skills math. In addition, she was a math tutor in college through Calculus II.Reviews
