For example, students participate in a collaborative book carnival where they collectively read assigned books throughout the term. This activity not only fosters a love of reading but also provides valuable insights into students' comprehension skills and interests. Additionally, online scavenger hunts, teamwork exercises, and mock trials are utilized to assess students' knowledge and understanding in a dynamic and interactive manner. Spelling bees and other group activities provide opportunities for students to showcase their skills and abilities while fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. These assessments are designed to be inclusive and accessible to all students, ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to participate and succeed. By incorporating fun and engaging activities into the assessment process, students are motivated to actively participate and demonstrate their understanding of course material. US Grade 7
Welcome to our vibrant 7th-grade class! With over two decades of teaching experience, education isn't just a job for me—it's my calling, my joy, and my passion. I've spent my career dedicated to nurturing young minds and instilling a lifelong love for learning in each and every student who enters both my classroom, and my heart. Our curriculum is more than just lessons and textbooks—it's a carefully crafted journey designed to ignite curiosity, spark creativity, and foster personal growth. From the excitement of mathematics to the wonder of science, every subject is an opportunity for exploration and discovery tailored to the unique needs of each learner. Throughout the year, we'll embark on an exhilarating adventure of interactive lessons, collaborative projects, and hands-on activities. But more than that, we'll create a warm, inclusive environment where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to shine. As an educator, my philosophy is simple: I lead by example. I believe in the "I do, You do, We do" approach, where we learn and grow together as a team. My goal is not just to teach, but to inspire, to uplift, and to empower each student to reach their full potential. But let's not forget the most important part—fun! Learning should be an adventure, a journey filled with laughter, excitement, and joy. That's why I'm committed to making every class an engaging, enjoyable experience for all. Throughout the course, students will not only learn from me but also from each other, through lively discussions, group projects, and collaborative activities. Together, we'll build a community of learners where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported. All learners must follow the Outschool learner verification safety process. To be let into the room, your learner must have the name on their zoom account match the name on the student roster verbatim. The student must also make sure to have their camera on before entering the classroom. If there camera is not on upon being let into the classroom, they will be removed immediately, but they will be let back in once their cameras are on and their names match. The child must also have enough light on to be identified by the teacher. After they have been identified, they MUST keep their cameras on for the entirety of the classroom time. Thank you for entrusting me with your child's education. Together, we'll inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and empower every student to soar to new heights. Welcome to our classroom family—let's make this year the best one yet! **Weekly Schedule Breakdown** (The Schedule Will Alternate Biweekly) Eastern Standard Time Zone ~Monday~ {11:00am-11:15am) Homeroom (11:15am-12:30pm) Pre~Algebra (12:30pm-12:45pm) Break (12:45pm-2:00pm) Algebra 1 -Tuesday-First HALF {11:00am-11:15am) Homeroom (11:15am-12:30pm) Social Studies (12:30pm-12:45pm) Break (12:45pm-2:00pm) Civics -Tuesday-Second Half {11:00am-11:15am) Homeroom (11:15am-12:30pm) Science Lesson (12:30pm-12:45pm) Break (12:45pm-2:00pm) Interactive Science Lab/Activity -Wednesday-Odd Weeks (11:00am-11:15am) Homeroom (11:15am-12:30pm) Reading (12:30pm-12:45pm) Break (12:45pm-2:00pm) Spelling -Wednesday- Even Weeks (11:00am-11:15am) Homeroom (11:15am-12:30pm) Writing (12:30pm-12:45pm) Break (12:45pm-2:00pm) Grammar -Thursday- Odd Weeks {11:00am-11:15am) Homeroom (11:15am-12:30pm) Entrepreneurship class (12:30pm-12:45) Break (12:45pm-2:00pm) Entrepreneur Time! -Thursday- Even Weeks {11:00am-11:15am) Homeroom (11:15am-12:30pm) Home Economics (12:30pm-12:45) Break (12:45pm-2:00pm) Home Ec Hands on Activity time! -Friday- {11:00am-2:00pm) * Homework Help 1:1 or small group * Makeup Work/Tests * Student teachers/Teacher Aide training and prep *We will have an additional teacher, Mr. Schneider to help out with us on study hall day, so I can spend 1:1 time with my learners as needed. *I will always happily come up to an hour early and stay an hour later for 1:1 help upon request every single week. * Extra credit (if academically eligible) * After all work and homework has been completed feel free to socialize and play Roblox! With over two decades of experience in education, I bring a wealth of expertise and dedication to my teaching career. Throughout my journey, I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to fostering academic growth and creating inclusive learning environments for students. My tenure began in February 2004, where I embarked on my teaching career as a special education instructor in a brick-and-mortar public middle school. In this role, I adeptly modified assignments to cater to the diverse needs of my students, who were undergoing the transition from special education to mainstream classrooms.
Transitioning seamlessly between various teaching roles, I expanded my repertoire by teaching computer classes to middle school students from 2009 to 2012, before transitioning to instructing English from 2012 to 2016. In 2017, I furthered my professional development by obtaining certifications in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), opening doors to international teaching opportunities. For several years, I taught English as a secondary language to children aged eight through 16 in multiple countries, covering a broad spectrum of subjects including science, social studies, economics, business classes, math, and social-emotional learning (SEL). My commitment to education led me to establish my own accredited online school in August 2022, recognized and accredited by both CPD and ACSI. Currently, I am pursuing additional accreditations to further enhance the quality and scope of education provided through my institution. Since March 2023, I have expanded my reach by offering independent teaching services on platforms such as Outschool, bridging the gap between traditional and online education. In 2024, I extended the offerings of my online school, Hip-Hop and Teach, to the Outschool platform, providing a professional and dynamic learning experience to students worldwide.
