Welcome to sixth grade math! I can't wait for you to join the Moxie Learning family! This series of 4 classes can be used as your child's sole math course for their year or as a supplement to another math class or curriculum. Students should have successfully completed a fifth grade math class. THIS COURSE SERIES WILL COVER ALL 6TH GRADE MATERIAL AND SOME 7TH GRADE MATERIAL. If your child tends to struggle with math content check out our fifth grade class which covers all of 5th and some 6th grade material. We will work through the Singapore Math Dimensions curriculum which is aligned with common core standards and demands deep understanding of concepts. In this class, we will play many games to practice the concepts we are learning. My teaching style is "I do, We do, You do" through this method, I am able to meet students where they are at and differentiate their learning. Our classes become small families throughout the quarter and year. It is important for students to come to class ready to participate in their learning with their cameras on and limited distractions around them. Week 1: Ch. 6 Rate Week 2: Ch. 7 Percent Week 3: Review and Test Rate & Percent Week 4: Ch. 8 Algebraic Expressions (writing equations and using letters) Week 5: Ch. 8 Algebraic Expressions (simplifying equations and word problems) Week 6: Ch. 9 Algebraic Expressions and Inequalities (balancing equations) Week 7: Ch. 9 Algebraic Expressions and Inequalities (inequalities and graphing) Week 8: Ch. 10 Coordinates and Graphs (coordinate planes and distance between coordinate pairs) Week 9: Ch. 10 Coordinates and Graphs (variables) Week 10: Review Week!

Supply List
Most materials are included in the cost of the class (textbook, student notebook, etc.). Students will also need to print out tests at the end of each chapter to be completed in class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
