This four-day summer camp is a comprehensive review of 6th-grade math. We'll cover a wide range of topics, including ratios, rates, percentages, arithmetic operations, negative numbers, properties of numbers, variables, expressions, data, statistics, and much more. This camp is perfect for students who want to solidify their understanding of these fundamental math concepts. We will begin each class by reviewing a topic that we had previously covered and then proceed with the next topic. I will lecture for 10-20 minutes, and then we will continue putting our new math skills into practice. After each class, students will have math questions to take and work on individually. This will help us see what topics we need to spend more time on and which ones we need to familiarize ourselves with. For this class, it is recommended that the student has completed sixth-grade math and would like a review.
Learning Goals
Students should feel more confident in their math abilities and iron out any topics that they need help with.

Hello!
My name is (Mrs.) Dorian Macrane and I am a high school mathematics and music teacher. I graduated college with a bachelor of science in music with an emphasis in both voice and piano and a minor in biblical studies. Then, I continued on to complete my master's in education, curriculum, and instruction. And will graduate shortly with my PhD in Higher Education. Within weeks of graduating from my bachelor's program, I began teaching. My first year was spent teaching 6th-grade history and language arts. After year one was done, I moved into teaching high school mathematics and running the music program at the school and never looked back. After a few years of teaching mathematics, I started to branch out and teach additional courses such as research writing, senior thesis, and computer informational sciences.
I will be offering courses that range between music, mathematics, and writing. I am also offering a few extra classes that cover tutoring for elementary through high school math courses, book clubs, and much more!
Along with my bachelor's degree, master's degree, and soon-to-be Ph.D., I have my speech and language specialist certification as well as my TESOL/TEFL and ESL (to teach English as a second language) certifications. Teaching is such a huge part of my life, and I can’t wait to meet you!
