Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello. I am an experienced teacher with 25 years in the public school. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I hold a lifetime certification in Texas for elementary grades 1-8 all core subjects, Lifetime Elementary Mathematics 1-8, Generalists 4-8, Special Education Certification, as well as an English as A Second Language certification. I also have a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
I enjoy teaching a variety of different classes. My favorite course is mathematics. I taught mathematics for 21 years - grades 4th - 8th. I love playing different math games and helping students to design their own games.
It is my belief that all students can learn. As educators we must recognize the differences in our students and accommodate to our students needs. This is why I utilize a variety of teaching strategies in my class.I also adjust to students based on their suggestions and parent suggestions.
I enjoy reading, writing (especially poetry), playing word games, and math game. Having fun with my family is something I love to do. We often have water balloon fights and enjoy a game of laser tag.
I hope to build many fantastic experiences with you in my classroom. I hope to see you there!
