::::::::::::::::::::::::::: What will be taught? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: <Cultural Fun>Children's Day The cultural fun part will include introduction to the customs for Children's Day Week 1 Describing Characteristics Week 2 Cultural Section: Tradition/Customs of the Month Week 3 Telling Time Week 4 Transportation Choices Week 5 Making Itinerary for a Trip to Japan Week 6 Dialogue and Speaking ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: How is your class structured? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: We will meet in zoom for 30 minutes twice a week. The first meeting of the week will be conducted with expectations of students having studied the vocabulary, so we can practice the applications of the newly introduced material. Second meeting of the week will be conducted with more in-depth application of the new material and speaking practice with classmates or with myself (depending on the number of enrollment). ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: How will you teach? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: On zoom through Outschool platform. External resources such as Quizlet for vocabulary decks, Padlet for simple application assignments, and Google Drive/Slide/Forms/Spreadsheet for collaborative work with classmates for between classes assignments. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: What's your teaching style? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Easy-going, but perhaps because of the subject I teach, most students are really respectful, which I truly appreciate. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: How much will learners get to interact with you and each other (mention specifics like: lecture, games, slides, video clips, discussion)? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Learning a foreign language is all about interaction!! There will be interactive class activities for informal assessments. Pair activities/assignments are designed to develop each student's 21st century skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.
