We will publish 8 pieces of writing: opinion, informative/explanatory, and narrative paragraphs. The writing tasks focus on building and strengthening ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, paragraphs, and conventions.

Lesson 1
Elements of Narrative Writing
Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences. Learners will be able to: ✅name some elements of narrative writing ✅know how to include sensory details/Wow Words to paint a picture with words ✅know how to use complex, detailed sentences to make their writing more interesting ✅know how to add zest to a paragraph with a well-placed idiom

In this writing workshop class, we will follow the writing process to write opinion, informative/explanatory, and narrative pieces while learning how to use Linking Words for smooth transitions, Wow Words to add detail, Sizzling Starts to engage the reader, and Extraordinary Endings to leave a lasting impression. Individualized feedback & personalized instruction are provided to help meet all learners' needs.

Our teachers go through rigorous training to assure that all classes are taught to the same level of quality no matter which one of our teachers is teaching it! I have strict hiring standards and strive to only hire teachers I would feel comfortable teaching my own children on Outschool.
Homework Offered
Learners may choose to finish any incomplete work from class, or write additional pieces of writing focusing on the skills from each lesson, and send to the teacher for feedback.
