This course is a review of 5th grade decimal skills and will be beneficial for students entering 6th grade as a refresher of decimal concepts previously learned or for advanced 4th graders looking for a challenge. Day 1: Place Value and Adding Decimals Day 2: Subtracting Decimals Day 3: Multiplying Decimals Day 4: Dividing Decimals I will apply the I Do, We Do, You Do teaching approach. I provide explicit instruction with modeling how to solve the problem. We solve problems together. You(learner) works independently to solve problems. I will teach the appropriate algorithm for each operation and strategies that will make my scholars successful. Additionally, I will incorporate technology to create a real-time interactive learning environment and math games to engage my students. It brings me such joy when my learners have that “aha moment” when everything clicks and I know I have taught them something they will use for the rest of their lives.
