Class Experience

US Grade 5
You are welcome to join this class even if you weren’t in quarter 1! Message me if you’d like a half price one one one session to see my teaching style!

Let's keep our excitement about 5th grade math moving into Quarter 2! This class will become a math community throughout the year! We will encourage each other and cheer each other on as we discuss strategies to solve math problems. We will meet twice weekly to explore and learn fifth grade common core standards. I will begin most classes with a short mini lesson followed by examples. Students will record notes and practice problems in their math notebook. Students will then complete some problems on their own! The chat box, discussion, and interactive whiteboard will be utilized for students to share their problem solving strategies with me and the class. I will use visuals and manipulatives to help explain new concepts as needed. Games will also be used throughout the session to engage learners in the material! Following each live class meeting, homework will be given for students to complete the following day. They will return their homework to me via outschool messages and I will respond to them with feedback to help them fix their mistakes and congratulate them on their hard work! The lesson schedule may change some based on student needs.
